Planning Sheet
Using the Checkride Planning Sheet
This form will allow the pilot to organize their flight and have all the pertinent info readily accessible during the flight. 1) As you can see below it provides spaces to list waypoints' name, their associated type, identifier, and frequency.
2) Then you fill in the direction of the true course and whether it's TO (towards) or FROM (away from the navaid).
3) Next is the length of the leg (distance to next waypoint) or cumulative (accumulated distance since departure).
These items should be determined by using the instructor-supplied or practice sectional. The rest are fairly self-explanatory and should be for general pilot information.
Winds will be assigned, by the instructor, at the start of checkride. Make sure that all takeoffs, approaches, and landings are into the wind whenever possible.
