Good day folks,

I would like to know if anyone was ever able to get many gauges into one .cab file.  I have created few gauges for the Cormorant and they are all individual gauges.  I would like to if this is something possible and how to do it...

Tks!

Mitch's Panel shop, which is unfortunately closed right now, used to have a mini-tutorial how to do this...I THINK (and don't take my word for it) that you .rar up the gauges into a single file, then rename it from .rar to .cab. Then ...I THINK... you need to have the gauge listing on the panel.cfg needs to refer to the EH101.cab and then to the specific gauge function inside it.

But PLEASE don't take my word for it, I've not done this, and while I looked into it a bit, I'm still well away from doing so myself!

Maybe Jordan knows....I do know that Mike Stone does this with many of his newer plane panels...but he recently closed his own forum (I hope he still makes planes :D )

Actually making cab files is very easy.  I have done it before.  I don't have the info handy.  I will see if I can dig it up.  SkyMed and Jordan have done it with their gauges for the DodoSim and the HC412.

Download CABPACK
It is very easy to use and makes great files.

Told you SkyMed would have the answer.  Thanks Steve!

You could also use Cabdir.exe which comes with the FSX SDK

It can be used to combine several .xml files and .bmp files into something similar to a zip file, yet still have them readily available to the sim to utilize in panel(s), either on a single aircraft, by placing it into the plane's \Panel folder, or any plane desired, by placing it into the FSX\Gauges folder.
That's the use. VERY handy for the sim, and probably any other game, or whatever that uses .xml and .bmp files in conjunction with one another.
Does that answer your question?
Pat

It can be utilized to join a few .xml records and .bmp documents into something like a compress record, yet still have them promptly accessible to the sim to use in panel(s), either on a solitary flying machine, by putting it into the plane's \Panel organizer, or any plane wanted, by setting it into the FSX\Gauges envelope. Mitch's Panel shop, which is shockingly shut right now, used to have a smaller than usual instructional exercise how to do this...I THINK (and don't trust me) that you .rar up the gages into a solitary record, at that point rename it from .rar to .taxi.
