This might be a silly question, but where would I get repaints for FS9?

Got some Dodosim repaints now, am I correct in thinking that the Bell 206 standard repaints will work?

For the fs9 version, any repaint for Owen Hewitts Bell 206 model will work.

Hi, I posted this over at the OZX forum, and was recommended to post it here. Manilow was highly recommended, but I don't want to impose. If anyone can take a look I'd appreciate it :)

"Hi guys. I've admitted this before, and I don't mind admitting it again, I'm the most un-artistic person on this planet, and I'm certainly not capable of doing this myself. So I turn to you very talented guys with a couple of questions.

I dare not post a picture here, I think it would break copyrights, but if you wouldn't mind popping over to THIS link, and THIS one, to have a look, can you answer me this: Is it physically possible that a computer can match these colours in this helicopter? If so, does anyone have the time to duplicate this paint scheme on the Dodo 206? If you do have time and can do it, can you put a different reg number on it? I fly with the reg number G-XTC6, and I'm willing to pay for someone to repaint "my" Bell 206 Dodo in these colours. It's a big ask, I know that. It doesn't look easy, I know that too. That's why I'm willing to pay for someones time. If you are a repainter, and have a paypal account, that would make it very easy to compensate you.

So, can it be done? Looking forward to replies."

Hi Tony

You might have better luck in the general forum if you don't find a repainter in our Dodosim bit here.

Are the thinner stripes shinier than the rest of the aircraft?

If so I have made this available for repainters by using the "_spec.bmp". If you want to change the shine on an area of the aircraft you can edit the _spec.bmp. You might want to mention that when you find somebody to paint it.

Thanks for the reply Mark. I don't honestly know if the thinner stripes are shinier than the rest, but to be honest that doesn't matter. As long the whole craft is shiny and looks brand new, that's all I was hoping for. I'm a magpie, and I like shiny  :D

I'm flying this Helicopter more and more all the time, and I just wanted something more personal to my taste. I looked at over 2000 pictures and there were only two that really took my fancy. The other one I couldn't find any more pictures of, so decided that's no good. I live in hope someone can do it  :)

I just had a play with the paint scheme for 2 hours and it doesn't lend itself to the dodosim model very well.
The amount of time it would take to line up the stripes over the tail section alone I think would be about 15 hours to get it perfect.

If anyone wants to make a go of it you can have my Photoshop layers just pm me. Thats where I'm upto...

15 hours is a long time span. I am a new beginner and don't think able to do it in even 24 hours. Seem you have an excellent skills.

Hi all,

I'm working on a repaint for the FSX Dodosim 206 and the problem is that Photoshop can't open the bump.bmp and spec.bmp files for editing.

BTW, When i'm opening these files in DXTBmp these files can be opened, then i sent thses to photoshop, but, when i save it, the result on the 3d model in the sim is not good.

Please help

Thx,

SchniX

Try saving them somewhere as a bitmap and then open the bitmap with photoshop

The picture has to be inverted. (Upside down)
