Hi,

Mark and Simon, with my limited knowledge of helis and simulation, I think you two are the heroes of helicopter simulation.  Nothing come closer to the Dodo Bell 206... but, seriously, it seems that you have too much and too little of one thing and the other.

I, as the rest of the simmers have been waiting for your next work of art.  I don't think it will happen any time soon, hence I concur with Alan_A; think of a co-development and if so I second the choice, the only choice -imho- would be A2A.

My best wishes for success to you both.

Just to stir the pot back up, any new developments?

At the moment we are pouring everything into the commercial Pro version of the 206 and some linked software getting it ready for release.

Is this project dead? I have been following this thread since its inception over five years ago. That is an awfully long time even for a very complex addon for FSX.

Well neither of us have done any work on it for a long time as we've been busy on other things.  That doesn't mean we won't come back to it, but since it started the state of the art of PCs and peoples' expectations have moved on, so we'd probably have to redo much of what's already done.

WOW...... I just happened to be cleaning up my old computer and rediscovered the link to here.

Still working on the Huey.....amazing!!!!!  It's probably been at least 2 years since I was last here.

I know it will be wonderful if ever released, however, I think it's time to move on!

No hard feelings fellas.......I'm a Chicago Cubs fan and have been waiting almost 50 years for them to try to get to the World Series.....I only want to die waiting on one of my life dreams.....not two. (smile)

Best of wishes and good luck!!!

Cheers,

With 131801 thread views and 928 posts there definitely seems to be a few fans and potential customers for this project.  :)

Guy's if you want to fly a great Huey then download the DCS sim and buy the Huey UH-1. The sim is a combat sim with as real physics to make the Huey an enormous challenge to fly. All the flight system's work like the start up procedures etc...and all the challenges of vortex ring state are there too !!

I agree the DCS Huey is a must have. However, you're stuck flying in Georgia for the time being.

In FSX I can fly period aircraft around SE Asia circa 1968 using the Vietnam War Project files. If there ever is a Dodo Huey I'll buy it for that reason alone.

HAHAHAHA......Since the Cubs finally won the World Series, I just had to come back and see if just maybe......my other life dream would come true.  Well... 3 years later and I see it hasn't.  Who knows.....the Cubs had to wait 108 years to win.....there's still hope that someday we may even seen another product.

Best Wishes!!!!!

Unfortunately we've not worked on the Huey in about that time because we got involved in some commercial projects that literally sucked all the time away.  To pick it up again now would require us pretty much starting again as expectations, especially 3D model wise, have greatly increased.

No. Not currently. We'd need to start again with the model to be anywhere near acceptable these days.
