I received a PM today with some good questions in it and I thought I would share with the rest of the community.
Quote | How far out should lessons be scheduled? How long are lessons? Are lessons OK for someone who isn't sure he/she will become a CP? |
To answer the questions in order; Lessons are not required to adhere to a fixed schedule. How those are setup is between the student and instructor. We usually try to keep the lessons to about an hour. All the instructors will gladly help anyone try and fly their aircraft better regardless whether or not they are going for the Certified Pilot. However if you are going for the CP you must take and pass the written exams for Student Pilot and Certified Pilot prior to your check ride.

I went for the general test, and botched up on some questions- I got 9 of the 13, and just what basic knowledge I have accumulated, and not reading to very much- is that alright? I know its not passing.. but wanting to see what I knew and then study more in the areas i need to study...
They were 1,4,10,12....
#1 i should have known- lmao but thought nah, thats a cop out awnser- which would have been right... nice trick tho- lol
#4 after closing my eyese and doing an imaginary flgiht- it come to me- DUH
#10 - If i would have read this twice i think iw oudl have gotten it....
#12 - I need to learn more- so if anyone can point me to a link, or explain it some more i would be more then appreciative...
How long till before we should retake it.... I mean it give me the option to retake, but i didnt feel it was right, as it was the same test, and anyone could copy awnsers over.. it just didnt seem right to me.. so I wanted a general ideal... I was thinking a week to read more and get more up to par on things.... if that is alright?
I dont like to do anything half @$$ or not get something I earned, and learned be it virtual or in real life.. lol
Thanks all~ Tobey~

hey,
for some reason I don't get permission to do my student pilot exam.. I'm new here since today maybe that's the reason? I submitted a couple a days ago, couldn't do anything then, now I can post in forums and go into the multi user server but I still can't get in the testing room..?
thx, Rayk

Hey all,
I was just wondering how long it takes to get your student pilot ribbon added to your name once you have successfully passed your exam. I passed my exam over a week ago, and I still have nothing added to my name yet?? I hope someone can help me out here. Thanks a bunch guys.!!

Hello Shawn and welcome,
The process has the personal touch, done by hand, but it will appear once an Admin has a free hand.

The Student pilot is actually awarded automatically after completing the right test. For example, selwynorren just completed his on his own.
schadwick79, can you give it another try, so that I can review and see if anything goes wrong? Thanks.

That's alright, I don't think this one shows up on the test.

OK, lol I retook the student pilot exam Jordan. And I cannot believe I missed a question. Especially with me being a real world helicopter pilot. But I passed with a 92%. Let me know what to do now buddy Thanks again

@JM:
Just want to let you know that I also completed the Student Pilot Exam, with a score of 92.31...I screwed up on the question that says "Because you'll be training using a simulation you will be able to:"

Thank You JM! I got one question regarding the Certified Pilot's Exam - how is the Checkride performed (MultiPlayer?)?
Thanks!

I joined just a few days ago, so I almost hope this question makes me look a little stupid.
I can get to the training page by searching "hovercontrol training" on Google, but I can't find a link anywhere on the site. Once I'm at the training page http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/quirex/index.cgi (nevermind - the very obvious training link on the homepage was, for some reason, not linking from the last computer I tried. I found the test. I still can't seem to take it, though.)
I've clicked the "student pilot" option and entered my username and email address, but I keep getting the message "Both your username and email are required to take this test".
What am I doing wrong?[I]
