Hi Dodo devs,

I know you guys are extremely busy, and I sure can understand that, but I was just wondering if you had new pictures to show us, Dodo fans.

Thanks!

Sorry David, I don't know yet, but it will be a lot less than a full aircraft. We are still working on what features we can add.

Dark Angel-
I'll take some pics next time I load it in the sim

I only ever fly the Dodosim in FSX (both FSX & Dodosim 206 having being given to me as a birthday gifts Last March), and I'm now well and truly hooked! Reading the planned spec for the new HD 206, dare I hope that it might be ready for launch in time for my next birthday? (March 2015).
I have no complaints at all with the current 206, but the new HD spec sounds awesome! I hope I don't have to upgrade my PC spec again though to support the new software (but I'd be willing to!)
Keep up the great work!

Hi All

I wasn't able to make much progress for a while but I am back on the 206.

I know you are all waiting to see what she looks like with textures but I'm still laying them out at the moment.

To give you an idea of what is going on -
anything in this pic that is bronzy coloured is new Hi-Def,
anything textured is old model not yet replaced,
anything block coloured (red, grey, blue) is new but unfinished.

I have started laying out some basic interior textures.
Their is no painted detail or reflections etc so they don't look much yet but they should at least show how crisp things will be. I took these wjile I was checking alignments so they are a bit rough and ready

Some of the bump map is already in place on the radios and collective, you might be able to see it on some of the lettering.

i've not had a build of the model yet to integrate any software into, so it's fair to say we're not going to have it done this year.

Dear Bluebottle,

I've flown hundreds of hours with the Dodosim Bell 206 JetRanger. I really like it and I'm glad to see it's getting refurbished. Nowadays this model is outdated. The VC is really low quality which doesn't give the user a very good experience. I've marked some parts on these images which should be fixed. The textures are also of pretty low quality. I hope we'll get a VC on the same level as Milviz from Dodosim.

1. The instrument panel is rough, the edges are thick and and angular in multiple places.
2. The stiffeners are very angular too.
3. The rotor effect is horrible on the external model.

Will these get fixed?

Thank you for your work, I look forward to the new HD model!:p

I don't know if you are aware 'hhelikopter', but there are presently some repaints that can be downloaded that include 'HD' interiors, which I think are quite an improvement.  These can be found at Files / Go to File Library, search for dodosim with category FSX Helicopter Repaints.  I have downloaded several repaints by 'Manilow'.  They perhaps don't address your specific concerns that you mention though.

Yes, everything on the model is brand new.

The old one was made to run faster than the default even though we are running extra software and processes - that is why it is has so few triangles in it.

Everything in the HD model is brand new. The new panel on its own has more triangles than the original exterior did. That means more detail and smoother curves. Things like screw heads are 3d too instead of being painted on.

Having said that I am still aiming for high frame rates and I have to take into account the Dodosim programming and functionality. Eye candy has to be balanced against performance.

DavidG,

I've already downloaded the HD textures, thanks.

Bluebottle,

Thank you for the swift reply, I'm glad the fixes will not just be minor ones. There are really fast CPUs and GPUs available nowadays so framerate isn't a problem. I get stable 40 FPS while using Milviz's Bell 407 with ORBX and REX. I think I won't have any problems usin Dodosim's JetRanger, you can use smooth lines and high resolution textures.

Do you plan the release around Christmas?

Thanks for everything.

Hi Mark,

I've already asked this but...is there any upgrade\improvement in the flight model or systems expected in this version?.

Regards,

Álvaro
