Currently not, but I'm going to revisit the flight dynamics in a week or so once I've finished what I'm currently doing.  I have a couple of ideas to try, but it will depend on whether it introduces any undesired effects elsewhere in the flight envelope.

Jorge: The issue isn't that you'd be wanting to depart backwards, but that doing a hovering pedal turn in wind. In FSX, with your back to the wind you lose translational lift and sink at the same power setting.  You'd need to adjust your power a little when side-on to the wind due to the greater or less need for tail rotor in either direction, but head-on and tail-on to the wind should use the same power. It's noticeable in FSX that it doesn't.

It's always irked me, so if I can find a solution, believe me I will!

Thank you for your reply, Simon.

Best luck with the tests and looking forward to see it fixed...if possible, of course.

In any case, many many thanks for your efforts!!

Best regards,

Álvaro

Hello Mark and Simon...

All sounds fantastic.. :p

Will either of you be at the Flight sim show at Cosford ?

Or will Bob for RC Simulations have a demo copy ?

Many thanks, Tony

We're not exhibiting, but I may go along for a visit.

I would t be surprised if Bob's demoing his hardware with the 206, but it won't be our latest build.  There's not enough time to get that tested and we wouldn't want to demo anything as "new" when so much of the visuals are still current old, as it sends the wrong message.

But if I'm there, I'm happy to talk to people about what to expect.

From that statement you are still writing to meet FSX compatibility. From what I have read LM changes to P3Dv4 have greatly expanded the ability of developers to write their own flight dynamics? Are you constrained by maintaining FSX compatibility?
This is not to start a FSX vs P3D war but just to understand if LM have really made fundamental change or not?

Thanks
Terry

It would be unwise for anyone to develop a new product and not have FSX compatibility.

Most R22 pilots would disagree with you on that :)

LM have extended the API in that regard, but yes, FSX compatibility is still paramount as most users are still using it, and since the Steam release it continues to gain more.

I was having major problems with the 206 in my P3d setup but Simon has put a lot of work in solved it.

Recent model changes have wrecked a lot of the mapping so it looks pretty ugly at the moment. On the plus side I have a few clear weeks to get some good progress made.

No, it's still a long way off. Sorry.
Mark's still working on the model and integrating functionality into my code.  And I've yet to start on the new manual.

Only update I have to offer is that Mark has been hard at work on the 3D model and I've been taking a break from it to give him time to catch up.  But he's also been very busy doing lots of smaller modelling commissions for industry folks, so that's got in the way somewhat.  Bills need to be paid, after all.
